Hello I am Svea and I am the artist behind Sandpiper Footprints Jewelry.

I am a California native and live in the Monterey Bay area in Northern California.  I started my business, Sandpiper Footprints, 3 years ago.  I’ve lived in a cute little beach village for the past 19 years and have loved everything to do with the ocean since I was a young girl.  There is something about the ocean that is so peaceful and relaxing.  It really feeds my soul to sit or walk along the shore and listen to the sound of the waves and watch the coastal wildlife as they play alongside of me.  I have been a silversmith for the past 10 years and I started metalsmithing 3 years ago in my home studio.  I make one of a kind pieces using sterling and fine silver mostly, but I have recently started working with 14 karat gold and copper.  I use only found sea glass that has tumbled in the salty ocean for decades.  I also use vintage beads and sea worn pottery, semi-precious gemstones like garnets, sapphires, aquamarines and peridot among many other items.  All the joints in my work are either wire wrapped, soldered or fused to make for a strong secure joint, that with care, will last a long time.
